2nd graders are working on building kindness and recognizing it in the world around them. How can I be a helper? How does it feel to spread kindness? .....and how does the kindness we give out make its way back to us....

Today in math we continued working on our math "counting strips" and other fun enriching activities! There was some serious teamwork and kindness going around as we closed out our session! (a friend needed a little help with her project!) Both exciting and heartwarming! What an amazing group of 2nd graders!
As kids meet expectations and reach classroom goals we get to light bulbs as part of our school project to earn celebrations! Here is Mrs. B's class lighting their first bulb as they were traveling to PE class this week! Way to go, kids!

Kids are learning how to read-to-self during our Reading Workshop time. They are settling in and enjoying some "just-right" books that help them do their best and most productive reading. We're building our reading stamina, too!
Our kids spent some time this week learning some of our math tools and exploring what we can do with them. It was a lot of fun!
