Math Talks in 2nd Grade!
We often warm up our math minds with some fancy thinking as we explore relationships with numbers and talk about our problem solving processes..... Here are a couple of examples of these math talks where kids are presented with an equation and asked to find an answer mentally. As they talk through their thinking, we scribe - showing our young mathematicians how their thinking looks in math language.
Getting to Know our School Leaders!
Over these past two weeks our 2nd Graders have gotten to know these school leaders better by conducting interviews and writing letters asking about their jobs and their lives. It's been very fun and interesting to understand more about these important people in our school. It's also been wonderful building fun and positive relationships with these folks, and learning how we can support them and be helpers much like they do for us every day. RES is truly a special community :)

We're lucky to have Mrs. O'Leary and her team in the RES Cafe! She's amazing! |
Painting Pumpkins!
This week we painted some petite pumpkins after reading a fun story about "The Vanishing Pumpkin"..... We had lots of fun and our creativity really shined through! Happy Pumpkin Season!
